[moon's shoulders had had soft slump and he was slouching at the breakfast table, keeping his gestures small and close to his body while his tail stayed curled under his chair— except for guarding against March 7th, he hadn't been very expressive with it all.

now his shoulders are rolled back and his tail swings wide behind him, its tight curl relaxing into a long whip that dances and flicks at his every curiosity as he goes down the corridor. it has more spikes on it now too, more a proper weapon. his balance, his carriage, his reactions... all of them relax from the polite guest into a creature at ease with its power and surroundings. the train is a novelty and there were people with pwoer in that room, but they're traveling through his domain. there's nothing here that could be a threat to him.

and so he doesn't need the armor over his neck or his arms to defend himself, but they click back on too. he doesn't mind sharing his hidden nature with Dan Heng]

Your friends were nice. I appreciate they did not ask how I got on board, because I did not have a reasonable excuse ready.

[that's an intriguing shift, and he notes the increased spikes and armor, too, even as Moon clearly relaxes.]

Let us go into the privacy of your room, first.

[luckily it is. the first room down the hall. nyoom. yep, still definitely not a real bedroom.]

[it's sure not a bedroom, but that means plenty of space for Moon to step out into the middle of the floor and explode. his body shatters into salt and a giant, dark shape slithers out of the broken reality to wind around the room. it's a rush meant to show off and intimidate, with all his scrabbling claws and the sudden rise of black, spiky armor like walls around them ...but he keeps out of the sleeping area, he avoids scratching any screens, and when he finishes his shift, his tail's going thump-thump-thump LOOK AT MEEE]

[Dan Heng freezes while all that happens, very still and tense, but not so much as summoning his spear. He does, after before, at least kind of trust Moon not to fuck him up at random, and he does note the details in the lack of actual destruction, the care not to disturb his personal space or damage anything.

And once the transformation is complete, he's pausing to visibly eyerake Moon, take in the details of this impressive form.]

[Moon rears up in the center of his coils, his neck curved in a serpentine arch to peer down at Dan Heng. His other form lacked horns, and this one does too. No horns, big eyes and a shorter snout— for all his size and ferocity, this is a young dragon.

He rumbles, the sound thudding through the floor, and an echo speaks over Dan Heng's shoulder,]

How do I look?

Powerful.

[voice soft, as he steps hesitantly closer.]

...May I draw you?

[eggstinction]

[he dips his head lower, arching his neck higher in a flattered curve]

Certainly. You are an artist?

[lifeban]

No. But I prefer the tactility of it, over photos.

[he is actually a very good artist. stepping over to the shelf to grab a notebook.]

[swings his head to follow him curiously, before drawing back and settling more comfortably into his coils]
